The beaches of Agadir and Much More

Spread the love

If you are looking for holiday with a difference, a cheap beach holiday to Agadir is a great option. This destination really has it all. Here is just a flavour of what you can expect from this unusual and enchanting beach destination.

The beaches

Some of the most beautiful beaches in the country are located here. They are enchanting, clean and surprisingly un-crowded especially in the winter.

If you like watersports you are going to love these beaches. They offer excellent surfing. For surfers, the area between Taghazout village and Cap Ghir is where you want to head, so you are probably better off staying in those areas if you want to surf every day rather than staying in Agadir.

Agadir beach itself is best for those who like to soak up the sun and make sandcastles, but there are watersports on offer too. On this beach, there are plenty of sun beds with umbrellas. Even in the winter, the sun is very hot, so it is very easy to burn. The views are stunning and there is the chance to enjoy a nice meal within sight of the beach and the sea. It really is the perfect place to relax and recharge your batteries.

Most of the hotels along the front have a separate area of beach for their guests. If you like to have a drink and a snack while on your sun bed book one of these hotels.

The promenade is great. It is long and flat, so is perfect for a stroll in the evenings.

Other attractions

It is a shame to travel to somewhere like Morocco and spend all of your time on the beach. The area around Agadir has a very rich and varied culture, which is well worth experiencing.

In Agadir itself, you will enjoy the local markets and the chance to walk through the beautiful Olhao garden. The Tabourjte Mosque is impressive as is St Anne’s church and the Beth El Synagogue.

If you want panoramic views then make your way to Agadir Ouefellah and the Kasbah fortress. The Marina provides good photo opportunities too.

Half day and day trips

The resort is within easy reach of Taroudant and the impressive Atlas Mountains. On hot days, this half-day trip can provide a welcome break from the sun and a chance to cool off a bit.

If you are feeling a little more adventurous, a full day trip to Marrakech is a great option. Many organised tours take in sights like the El Bahia Palace and the famous Saadian tombs. The markets in Marrakech are also well worth experiencing.

A day out in Essaouira is also well worth the effort. The route takes you along the coast road. Once there you can explore the city’s port and ancient city. You can also visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Media.

The entire area is full of nice restaurants and many of the hotels offer all-inclusive deals with a range of cuisines. Many hotels also put on shows and banquets. The 1001 night’s banquet and Fantasia Show is always popular and memorable.

Agadir is still a relatively new tourist destination, but the people in the area have done a lot in a short time. It really is a fantastic destination and now is definitely the time to experience the area, so put it on your must visit list.
