Spread the love

As the song goes, “the weather outside is frightful” – and for many people this is the perfect time to book a summer getaway. So why don’t you explore our range of cheap Turkey holidays to get the wheels in motion? If you don’t know too much about Turkey, now is the time to get acquainted with one of the most popular resorts: Marmaris.

There is so much going on in Marmaris that you’ll find it impossible to get bored during your trip; you would be able to choose from a vast selection of activities and excursions that will broaden your mind, or simply make you squeal with excitement. So before you book your holiday to Marmaris, read this blog post so you know what you will be able to experience when you arrive:

Watersports

One of the best ways to enjoy the beautiful coastline at Marmaris is to arrange a couple of activities in and on the water. As the weather is unlikely to drop below 25 degrees Celsius between June and August, you will also be able to cool off when taking to the water – you are highly unlikely to see any rain so it is really your best bet. In terms of water based activities, there is everything from snorkelling to parasailing, as well as the traditional banana boats and the like.

Mud baths

Those who travel to Marmaris are quickly introduced to the idea of going on a boat trip as these are advertised in numerous places around the resort. However the jewel in the crown has to be the Dalyan mud baths which are a couple of hours away by boat and a smaller river boat. Upon arriving at the mud baths you will be able to cover yourself in mud before letting it all dry in the sun; once you have cleaned off your skin should feel rejuvenated. It’s worth bringing a camera along…

Turtle Beach

Some of these excursions by boat will also take you to the gorgeous beach, known locally as Turtle Beach. This is because the area is a habitat and breeding ground for the creatures, but it is also a beautiful place to relax for a couple of hours. The sand is super soft and white, and the waves are cool and enjoyable in the summer sunshine. You will need to bring your suntan lotion along with you as there aren’t many places to sit indoors once you are at the beach, although it is hard to understand why you would want to avoid the sun!

Night life

Within the resort itself, you can still stay entertained when the sun goes down. Whether you stay within your all inclusive hotel complex or venture further afield to the bars and clubs, you will be able to boogie on down until the early hours of the morning. Of course you might just want to sink into a chair in one of the many restaurants where you can enjoy a meal that you don’t have to cook – a popular option for those who have picked self-catering accommodation.
