Spread the love

Benidorm is a fantastic holiday destination. The fact that this resort has been catering for large numbers of holidaymakers for decades, shows in the way they look after you.

This town really knows how to show you a good time. So, here is a list of some great things you can enjoy in Benidorm for 2016.

Theme parks, water parks and animal parks

There are several great theme parks for you and your family to enjoy. Terra Mitica is the biggest theme park in Europe with a great range of huge rides, spectacular shows and plenty of other things to keep everyone entertained and happy.

There is also Aqualandia, the biggest water park in Spain. Mundomar includes a great water park as well as a range of fantastic animal shows featuring dolphins, sea lions and parrots. You can even swim with the dolphins and sea lions provided you book in advance.

A theme park that many people completely miss when they holiday in Benidorm is Terra Natura. This beautiful natural park is home to over 1,500 animals. It is set up to be educational as well as great fun for the whole family. The park has also been built using Zooimmersion design principles, so you can get up close and see the animals in very natural environments.

Visit Benidorm old town

Another great experience is shopping or eating in Benidorm old town. An awful lot of tourists do not think to take the short stroll into this beautiful and tranquil area. There is nothing quite like sitting out with a drink and a traditional tapas, taking in the views of the sea from the old town.

Benidorm Palace

If you like dance and variety shows you will love Benidorm Palace. It is a great place to see a traditional variety show whilst enjoying dinner. Dancing, magicians, singers, comedians and unusual niche acts all feature in this great show.

Do not forget the beach

As well as all of these great facilities, Benidorm has two fantastic Blue Flag beaches, which offer visitors the chance to enjoy a range of water sports. Both the Levante and Poniente beach are cleaned every morning, so they really are pristine.

The Parque de Elche

A nice spot near the Poniente beach is the Parque de Elche. This beautiful park is a great way to get away from the beach when it becomes too hot. And is where you can enjoy a shady walk in the lovely park. There are some great cafes nearby too.

The religious sights of Benidorm

Benidorm is still very much a traditional Spanish town, so it is home to several important and beautiful religious sights. A visit to the Placa del Castell is a must. The views from here are fantastic, you really should go into the Iglesia de San Jamie y Santa Ana, and take a look around it is a beautiful church.

A walk up to the La Cruz de Benidorm is also worthwhile. The views are good here too, and for many people, it is quite an emotional and uplifting experience.

A trip to the Isla de Benidorm

The short trip to the Isla de Benidorm gives you a chance to get out onto the water and get a different view of the resort. Included in the price is a short trip under the sea in the famous yellow submarine. The walk on the island is always pleasant and there are plenty of photo opportunities. The small cafe on the island is a popular stopping off point as well.

Still want more?

If you still want more to do, perhaps a day trip to a chocolate factory or nearby Altea is for you. Other options include taking a bike tour around the town or horse riding in the surrounding countryside. The list of things you can do in Benidorm is almost endless. With the above being just a few of the highlights you can experience during your stay.
